Louis Vuitton continues to expand its cultural universe, this time through the artistry of cuisine. On September 1, the maison will unveil Le Café Louis Vuitton on the fourth floor of its architectural landmark, Maison Seoul in Cheongdam-dong.
Fashion Meets Flavor
Le Café Louis Vuitton is not simply a café; it is a statement of lifestyle. After celebrated openings in Paris, Tokyo, New York, Milan, and Bangkok, the Seoul outpost will interpret French refinement with a distinctly Korean sensibility. The menu is designed to merge haute cuisine with a spirit of locality, echoing Louis Vuitton’s vision of fashion as a way of life.
The Maison as a Landmark
Since its debut in 2019, Maison Seoul has embodied the maison’s avant-garde ethos. Designed by Frank Gehry with interiors by Peter Marino, the sculptural façade and interplay of modern and traditional Korean aesthetics have made it a destination in itself. The arrival of Le Café Louis Vuitton now transforms the space into a cultural salon where architecture, design, and gastronomy converge.
A Culinary Collaboration
At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Yoon Tae-kyun, the newest voice in Louis Vuitton’s growing Culinary Community. He will collaborate with Michelin three-star chef Arnaud Donckele and acclaimed pastry chef Maxime Frederic, crafting a menu that harmonizes French savoir-faire with Korean flavors. Expect dishes that are both elevated and rooted, where culinary tradition meets contemporary imagination.
Beyond the Plate
Le Café Louis Vuitton is part of a global culinary initiative, one that seeks to discover and nurture gastronomic talent while weaving the maison’s design language into every sensory detail. With reservations and menu previews set to be announced in August, the café is poised to be one of Seoul’s most anticipated openings this season.
