In an age where identities shift between screens and streets, Play, Pose & Pixel emerges as Hong Kong’s most forward-looking tribute to fashion’s evolving language. Presented by the Hong Kong Design Centre and curated by digital fashion pioneer FabriX, the exhibition transforms AIRSIDE’s Gate33 Gallery into an avant-garde playground where nostalgia, technology, and design converge with cinematic precision.
Doll Artist : Ning Lau
Ⅰ. Origins of Style — Revisiting the Doll Era
The journey begins in The Doll House, a meticulously curated archive of more than 40 collectible fashion dolls. Far from children’s toys, these icons—ranging from classic Barbie silhouettes to rare collaborations with Christian Dior, Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Louboutin—echo the earliest rituals of styling and fantasy.
Hong Kong artist Ning Lau elevates this nostalgia with over 20 handcrafted dolls, each sculpted with couture-like detail, weaving local artistry into global fashion history.
Ⅱ. The Avatar Epoch — Reconstructing Identity
Stepping into Zone 2 feels like entering a chromatic vortex where reflection becomes reinvention. Inspired by the hyper-social world of Roblox and global avatar culture, a kaleidoscopic mirrored tunnel multiplies every silhouette, creating a constellation of “mini-yous.”
This highly photogenic installation underscores a truth of modern style: identity is fluid, self-expression is multidimensional, and fashion now spans realities both physical and virtual.
Ⅲ. Paris to Hong Kong — Couture at Pixel Speed
Zone 3 spotlights FabriX’s signature AR try-on kiosk, a portal that unites Paris Fashion Week’s experimental edge with Hong Kong’s rising design talent. Visitors can “wear” digital pieces by luminaries such as:
- Alain Paul — 2025 LVMH Prize finalist
- Caroline Hu — inaugural BoF China Prize winner
- Didu — costume visionary behind BLACKPINK’s Deadline Tour
- Kevin Germanier — acclaimed for his Paris 2024 Olympic Ceremony designs
These global names are joined by Hong Kong talents Derek Chan, Brun Chan, and Tiger Chung, whose collections—rendered in augmented reality—demonstrate how local creativity can thrive on a global digital stage.
With 4D.ai technology, the exhibition unveils couture reimagined as moving digital sculptures. Visitors can rotate, zoom and examine 360° garments as if holding the future of fashion between their fingertips—an entirely new frontier of lookbook storytelling.
Ⅳ. The Digital Afterparty — Becoming Your ‘Virtual Me
The exhibition culminates in a celebratory afterparty where every visitor unlocks their own blind-box–style avatar through a rapid 3D scan. Instantly styled in one of six futuristic looks, each guest becomes the star of a kinetic LED showcase.
Against the retro charm of an ’80s Cantopop silent disco, the space pulses with nostalgia and futurism—proof that Hong Kong’s creative spirit thrives in both timelines at once.

A Playground for All Generations
Play, Pose & Pixel reaffirms fashion’s true essence: play, curiosity and self-expression. Whether you grew up dressing dolls, design avatars on Roblox, or explore wearable tech, the exhibition invites every visitor to engage with style through imagination. In this brave new world, fashion isn’t just worn—it’s interacted with, transformed, and endlessly re-envisioned.
